class structures + sequencing
a mini masterclass, talking you through exactly how I structure almost every class that I teach!
planning a great class shouldn't take hours
I imagine your YTT covered sequencing in your training (I bloody hope it did anyway) but during that time, you're so busy learning all the ingredients of a class that you often come out and find yourself spending hours trying to plan the perfect class, and wasting even more time overthinking whether it's good or not.
Sequencing really shouldn't be that hard.
Yes, when you're new of course it's going to take more time to get to grips with what-works-well-with-what, but there are some basic guidelines and templates you can use that will make the process about 400x faster.
And you don't need to be reinventing the wheel every single class.
I use the SAME templates I did years ago, and even though I don't necessarily pre-plan or write out my classes in detail now in advance, I still follow the same patterns.
And those templates are what I'll be talking you through in this mini masterclass.
If you're reading this wondering 'wtf is the difference between a structure and sequence?' then this will definitely be up your street. But even if you've been teaching a while, you might still find some useful ideas you can take away.
The masterclass will be run live and yes, a recording will be available afterwards so you can rewatch it and work through the guided examples till your heart's content!
You'll also get a full set of the notes and resources from the masterclass..

I'll be covering
- The key pillars of class planning
- An exact walk through of how to to layer intelligently and plan faster — without overthinking
- A full planning breakdown with key actions for Ardha Chandrasana (Half Moon)
- Three of my favourite structures that I apply to pretty much every class I teach now (hatha + flow)
- Worked examples of each structure in real time (we plan 5 classes together in under an hour)
- A ton of other sequencing tips on the way
There's always room to improve what you're already doing
...sometimes it can just help to see another approach to add to your toolkit
You don’t need to spend hours hunched over your notebook, trying to come up with the perfect practice.
You don’t need to start from scratch every week.
You definitely don't need to know your whole class off by heart.
What will help is understanding how class structure actually works - so you can build clear, effective classes that gives your students a great practice, and makes sense for you.
That’s what this session is for.
By the end of it, you’ll have go-to templates you can lean on again and again (literally, for forever), a clearer understanding of what actually matters when planning, and - hopefully - a boost of extra confidence next time you sit down to map a new class plan out.
about me
I'm Courtenay
a yoga teacher, studio owner, photographer, toddler mum + writer based in the sleePy cotswolds in the uk
After almost a decade in this industry, I can't keep quiet about the things I REALLY feel need to change - from toxic expectations and unsustainable business models, to the pressure of fitting a certain mould.
I share overly honest insights about life as a yoga teacher and business owner over on Instagram, and dive much deeper into teacher support and education through my writing on Substack.
I'm no yoga scholar, but I am someone who loves taking complicated things and helping people make sense of them.
Now I work with teachers, helping them to build a Slow Yoga Business that they love and serves them, their students and the practice, within this crazy fucked up industry.
