PHILOSOPHY CLUB
four-week online guided study series' to help you explore, understand, and naturally share more yoga philosophy in your teaching

four weeks. four sutras
When you sign up to a series, each week, you'll get a set of study materials that will help you to explore each sutra fully - prompts to get your own thoughts flowing, my essay which gets deep into the teaching from my own personal perspective, and a set of practical ideas for bringing the themes from that sutra into your classes.
There are no live calls - just course material to support your sutra exploration, that you can download and keep forever, working through at your own pace.
Oh, and it's only £37 for the each series - less than the price of a yoga class each week.

Do you find yourself..
- Wanting to bring more depth to your classes but feeling overwhelmed by the texts each time you open them
- Reading the sutras but struggling to get a handle on how they relate to modern practice?
- Sticking to physical cues because you're not sure how to share philosophy concepts in your own words?
- Worrying about sounding inauthentic (or like you're reading a fortune cookie) when you're sharing 'the other parts' of yoga?
- Wondering how to actually to teach this stuff in a way that resonates with your students?
and yet, feeling uncertain about how to teach philosophy doesn’t mean you can’t do it...
...you just need a different approach!
You don’t need to memorise dense texts or pretend to have it all figured out. The trick is to exploring these ideas in a way that actually makes sense to you.
That way, you can easily bring these ideas into every single one of your classes in a way that feels natural, not forced.
In Philosophy Club, I give you the prompts, essays, and reflections you need for four different sutras (yep, we work in depth!) in a way that makes these teachings feel clear and relevant.
Instead of feeling overwhelmed by what they mean, you'll finally start to see how they fit into modern practice (and your own teaching).
How much better would your teaching be if you...
- Had a method to follow that guided you through how to explore these amazing texts without them being overwhelming
- Understood how these ancient ideas applied to modern life and practice
- Started to find natural opportunities to weave philosophy into class, rather than just learning random bits to recite
- Got to grips with each of the concepts in a way that meant you were comfortable enough to share them in your own voice
- Built up your own library of reflections and notes that you can come back to whenever you need inspiration
And what if you didn't have to figure this all out on your own...?

we all want our classes to feel like more than just a workout, but it can be hard to know exactly how...
We a;; want to bring more depth to our classes, to teach beyond just the physical practice - but where do you even start? How do we share these teachings without it feeling forced and awkward?
This group came about from discovering that I had to create my own way of making sense of it the texts - one that wasn't just about memorising what I was learning from someone else (or trying to sound 'right,').
Since I've started using this process and really engaging with the ideas in a way, applying, them to what I already know, and how I live, my teaching has been better (and easier!) than ever.
This space is here for those of you who want to join me in this way of exploring the texts....

By the end of each series you will:
- Know how to make sense of these sutras in your own way, instead of feeling like you need to memorise and regurgitate someone else's interpretations. You'll have a method for breaking them down that actually works for you.
- Feel more confident than ever bringing philosophy into class without it feeling forced, because you'll understand these teachings deeply enough to spot moments in class where they naturally fit, rather than pre-planning and memorising philosophical themes
- Start feeling genuinely excited to share these teachings with students, because you'll have found ways to make them relatable to real life and be spotting them showing up everywhere - in your teaching, your practice, and just going about your day
- Make self-study a regular part of your practice, because being in this group will give you the structure and support to actually explore these teachings properly, instead of just feeling guilty about all of the texts gathering dust on your shelf
And you'll be part of a group of teachers who are all in the same boat - figuring out how to make these ancient ideas relevant in our own voices, without losing their depth.

about me
I'm Courtenay
a yoga teacher, studio owner, photographer, toddler mum + writer based in the sleePy cotswolds in the uk
After almost a decade in this industry, I can't keep quiet about the things I REALLY feel need to change - from toxic expectations and unsustainable business models, to the pressure of fitting a certain mould.
I share overly honest insights about life as a yoga teacher and business owner over on Instagram, and dive much deeper into teacher support and education through my writing on Substack.
I'm no yoga scholar, but I am someone who loves taking complicated things and helping people make sense of them. I've been on my own big old philosophy exploration journey lately, and this is me now opening it up for you to join me on that ride.
